Q. (RTI) Why does the new version 3 driver not have a demo version?
A. Demo versions of RTI version 3 are available by request only. Please contact info@activesurrounds.com for more infomation.

Q. (RTI) Can I upgrade my version 2 license to a version 3 license?
A. The KNX version 3 driver is a new product. It cannot be upgraded in RTI projects as the interface has been changed. License keys from previous versions will not work with the version 3 driver.

Q. What are the limitations in the DEMO versions?
A. (RTI) The software is limited to 1 group address of each type.

A. (AMX) The software will be fully functional for 1 hour.

Q. Which KNX IP gateway do I need to buy?
A. (AMX & RTI) The software has been tested against most mainstream gateways. In general, it will work with an IP device that can been connected to via KNX ETS software. The software uses the KNXnet/IP tunneling protocol and not the BAOS protocol, there is therefore no need to use a BAOS device, although it will work with one.

Q. Can I replace my licence if I need to change a controller?
A. (AMX & RTI) We ask that you take great care to enter the correct serial or MAC when ordering a licence as we are unable to replace licences.

Q. What does the link LED mean?
A. (AMX & RTI) The link LED when green, indicates that a current and valid connection exists between the driver and the IP device. The LED is red when no connection exists. There can be many reasons for a red condition.

Q. Which LED means what?
A. (AMX & RTI) The ERR LED means there is a reason the software cannot maintain a connection with the IP device.
The TX LED means a KNX tunneling frame has been sent to the IP device.
The RX LED means a KNX tunneling frame has been received by the controller.
The LINK LED means there is an active and healthy connection open with the IP device.

Q. How do I connect the controller to my IP gateway?
A. (AMX) Review the sample code to see how to specifiy the IP and port number.
A. (RTI) You need to specify the IP and port number of the IP gateway, thats all, the software handles its own connection.

Q. How do I know I am connected?
A. (AMX & RTI) The Link LED is lit or the Err LED is lit if not connected.

Q. Why do I some times see an a E_NO_MORE_CONNECTIONS connection error after rebooting the controller?
A. (AMX & RTI) E_NO_MORE_CONNECTIONS is returned by an IP gateway when a connection request is made, yet a valid or previous session is still in existance. This condition will clear when this previous session times out, this is between 10-40 seconds depending on the IP gateway.

Q. (RTI) What does the Enable Trace setting do?
A. When set, extended debug messages are sent to the UDP socket specified in the Outgoing Telegrams property.
